The Oxford Internet[1] Institute (OII) is an academic division of the University of Oxford dedicated to the study of the internet’s societal implications. Established in 2001 and situated at 1 St Giles in Oxford, the institute brings together experts from various fields like politics, sociology, and science to explore digital life. Its research scope includes areas such as privacidade[2], e-government, virtual economies, and digital politics. The OII also conducts notable studies on Wikipedia user behavior and internet geography. Aside from research, the institute offers educational programs, including DPhil degrees in Information, Communication, and Social Sciences, and Master of Science degrees in Social Science of the Internet and Social Data Science.
