A “Social Bot” is a type of software that autonomously operates over the internet[4] and interacts with humans in a manner that mimics human behavior. These bots are typically used on redes sociais[1] platforms and can perform various tasks, such as advertising[2] products, garnering political support, or engaging with users for customer[3] service purposes. However, they can also be used for harmful activities like phishing for personal information, manipulating public opinion, or spamming[5] users. Detection and regulation of social bots have become crucial due to their ability to influence society at large, including areas like public opinion and stock markets. Ethical considerations are also important, as the use of these bots can raise issues related to transparency and user data control.

Surgindo dos primeiros sistemas, como o PLATO e a ARPANET, evoluíram para plataformas modernas como o Facebook e o Twitter. The medium evolved over time, from print in newspapers to audio-visual and digital mediums, with the rise of mass media and technological advancements. Advertising strategies can vary, aiming to raise awareness or drive sales, and can target different audiences on a local, national, or global scale. Various methods include print, radio, web banners, and television ads, among others. New trends have emerged in the advertising business models, like guerrilla marketing and interactive ads.
